BORAX, OR SODIUM TETRABORATE, - is a combination of sodium, boron and oxygen, and is mined from the soil in its crude form. Boric acid is a crystalline material derived from borax. Caution: Remember, boric acid and all boron products can act as a stomach poison when ingested. While 20 Mule Team Borax� is extremely effective in controlling or eliminating ants, termites, weeds, lice, fleas, spiders and roaches, the Dial Corporation notes, �This product has not been tested nor received approval from the EPA for use as a 27 pesticide.� Even so if you mop or spray the floors, voids, sill boxes, tunnels, backs of furniture, appliances and other areas where you see insect pests with borax - you will be surprised on how great the material controls virtually all pests. It has been used for years to make cellulose insulation insect free and fire retardant. It also is great for removing stains in carpeting and/or odors in urinals, etc. - so mop to remove odors and to help clean - in doing so you will also control pests �accidentally�.

Repels and kills fleas,too!	October 22, 2007

My family moved to Florida when I was 15. it was a brand new house, but with 4 cats and a dog were soon infested with fleas. for 10 years they used every spray,dip,bomb,collar with only temporary results,not to mention the nasty chemical smell. The fleas always came back,usually worse. I read an article about Mule 20 Borax in a pet column. We tried it, sprinkling it everywhere at first, then just under cabinets and along baseboards behind furniture. 20 years and not one flea on their new generation of pets. I live in Louisiana now and still use it and pass the word to others. We rarely see a roach either and I always thought it could be the Borax. Now I now. Great stuff!!

I remember seeing commercials for "20 Mule Team Borax" on the TV when all five brothers & sisters would be sitting in front of the TV, watching shows like "Dale Evans & Roy Rogers", "Rin Tin Tin", "Hi Ho Silver", "The rifleman", & "The Real McCoy". etc.(I'm dating myself) My mom used it in her clothes washings, before she hung the clothes out to dry. It would leave a clean fresh smell. I have used it myself, diluted with water, in a spray bottle for cleaning & keeping my house bug free.
My brother even used it, when cleaning his rental property he had just bought. The the 30 year roach guy, ran out the door slapping his legs & screaming to his father how he never saw a problem like this so bad. We used "20 mule team borax" diluted in spray bottle to wipe down kitchen counters, baseboards, warm hard to reach areas, nook, crevice & crannys. That was 20 years ago. It really works!
