buyer beware part 2/pt 1 is above January 2, 2011 Reviewer: SAT MD JD from Silver Spring, MD United States   Fels Naptha, is a highly effective cleaner because the benzene component is an organic solvent that is petroleum based, The petrochemical is also  found in synthetics, plastics, and rubber. Benzene found in plastics used in everyday items from baby bottles to food storage containers, is known to have deleterious effects on the nervous system, lungs, eyes, and skin. Do not use for acne or poison ivy! Babies, old people and damaged skin absorb more poison because of their thin and damaged skin. Fels Naptha is essentially unchanged in its ingredients and has been found to have a high level of benzene in its content. A safe alternative for homemade laundry detergent is a castile or old-fashioned lye soap: Zote, Lirio, Kirk's castile bar, Dr. Bronner's bars, Tepeyac, any other bar soap commonly found in Hispanic, Carribbean, or stores that cater to the different African countries. Octagon is a good stain remover and general cleaner. They cost less too. Was this review helpful to you?

Hands and laundry January 28, 2010 Reviewer: Kendra Campbell from Portsmouth, OH United States   I love fels-naptha soap and was very happy to find this company, as it's not easy to find in stores. I have a handicapped son who is incontinent, and I wash bedding and pajamas first thing every morning,using bleach all the time causes the bedding to quickly wear out,but until now was the only way to rid the odor of urine in bedding. I tried the recipe for make your own laundry soap and it's truly AMAZING!!!! No bleach needed. The clothes have never been so clean and bright and it completely rids the odor!!!Before finding this recipe I was already using fes-naptha bar to wash hands, it will remove any stains and foul odors from your hands, I love it for hand soap!! I was also using it for stains and handwashing certain items. I'm a huge fan!! Very happy to find this company and the laundry soap recipe!!!! Was this review helpful to you?
